Thank You!!!
Posted on June 21, 2009 by Mike & JessA HUGE THANK YOU to everyone for making our wedding day so special. It was a wonderful day and we had a great time. It was amazing to share the experience with all of our friends and family. Everything went by so fast. We're so sorry for those of you we didn't get to talk with.
Special thanks to our bridal party and our parents. Without you, this weekend would not have been possible.
We leave in the morning for Hawaii!! We will try to provide some daily "tweets" (see "Hawaii Live" on the right sidebar) so you can read about what we're doing out there.
We hope to have some wedding pictures and videos added to the website when we get back from Hawaii!!

What's For Dinner?
Posted on February 13, 2009 by MikeLast night Jess and I, along with each of our parents, went to Chester Valley to do our food tasting and make our final selections for the reception. This was pretty cool as we got to stuff ourselves for two hours on a variety of apps, soups, salads, entrees, and cakes!
It was actually pretty easy agreeing on the final menu choices. We think (and hope) there will definitely be something that everyone will enjoy. Here are the three entrees:
Chicken Grand Marnier
Boneless breast of chicken sauteed with Chester County mushrooms in a grand marnier laced demi-glace - garnished with Mandarin orange segments
Salmon with Confetti
Oven roasted salmon topped with a colorful array of red peppers, lemon and orange zest, sun dried tomatoes, red onions, fresh herbs, & honey raspberry vinaigrette.
Six Ounce Filet Mignon
The most tender cut of beef available sauced with wild mushroom demi-glace.
We're Going to Hawaii!
Posted on February 12, 2009 by MikeJess and I have finally come to an agreement on our honeymoon destination - we're going to Hawaii!
Although not originally on our list, we came to love the idea of Hawaii and what it had to offer, despite the negative of its long travel time (about 10 hours). A lot of friends and family had gone there and all raved about it.
We'll likely stay in Maui for the duration of the trip, leaving the Monday after our wedding.
Merry Christmas!
Posted on December 28, 2008 by MikeJess and I wanted to officially wish everyone a (belated) Merry Christmas. We hope everyone had a great holiday and we wish you the best in 2009.
Our wedding planning is progressing nicely. Jess has kept us on task with her countless checklists and hours of research and hard work. So far we have booked the church and reception hall, Photographer, DJ, Florist, and Jess has found the perfect dress (or so I've been told).
The next big decision is our honeymoon destination. Jess is dropping daily hints for Italy. We'll see...
We've Got a Date!
Posted on October 21, 2008 by MikeThe wedding will officially be on Saturday, June 20th, 2009. Jess and I looked at a few places this past weekend and we're thrilled that our top choice, Chester Valley Golf Club, is available on the date we wanted.
Chester Valley is located in Malvern, PA (western suburbs) and is about 20 minutes from the church we will be getting married in, St. Basils the Great in Kimberton. We're also very excited to announce that Jessica's Uncle Jimmy (Monsignor Fitzpatrick) will be marrying us.
The wedding will likely be at 2pm, with the cocktail hour starting at 4pm.
Final confirmation and hotel details will be coming shortly!
The Engagement
Posted on October 10, 2008 by MikeI decided that I wanted to go the surprise route for the engagement, so I really wanted it to be unexpected. I figured if I asked Jess out to a fancy dinner or to go pick pumpkins (or something else off the wall and completely un-me) that she would be too suspicious.
I usually get home from work about 45 minutes before Jess so I decided to catch her off guard and propose after a day of work. Friday worked out perfectly because Friday night is pizza night when we make homemade pizza and this is by far her favorite night of the week. She's literally like a kid in a candy store on Friday nights. We'd even exchanged a few emails during the day about pizza night. She was fully expecting pizza on the table and a night in watching shows...the perfect setup!
I put a note on the front door that said "Jess, We're not going to have pizza tonight. Sorry." When she opened the door - confused and probably a little mad (you'd be surprised how much she loves to eat) - I was on one knee with the ring in my hand surrounded by flowers, candles, and wedding magazines.
She said "yes" and we celebrated at a quaint BYO Italian restaurant in Phoenixville.
